6. Increase and Decrease Analysis

Increase Analysis (under Strengths) and Decrease Analysis (under Weakness) go a level deeper than the increasing and decreasing lists: they work customer by product, and split each change into value and volume so you can see whether it came from price or from quantity.

  • Minimum Percentage Change — 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% or 50%; changes smaller than this are left out.
  • Comparitive Period — the last 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days, against the period before.
ColumnMeaning
Previous / Current ValueSales value in the earlier and the latest period.
Previous / Current VolumeUnits in the earlier and the latest period.
Reason for ChangeThe system's summary of what drove the change.
The Decrease Analysis page with Minimum Percentage Change and Comparitive Period drop-downs, above a list of customer and product pairs with previous and current value and volume and a Reason for Change column.
Decrease Analysis. Value down with volume steady points to price; volume down points to the customer buying less.
